2023 USA Team

After a successful gold in the Challenge Cup last year, we were promoted to the Nations Cup at the Team World Championships in 2023. This year they were hosted at the beautiful Victoria Club in Rotterdam. We played some powerhouse countries, narrowly beating Germany and France in the group stage, before losing a nail biter to the runner up, Great Britain. We battled against the France 2nd team for bronze and emerged victorious during an electric night match coming down to the final frame of tennis. This was our best ever showing on the world stage. Excited to come back even stronger next year!

2022 USA Team

The first USA team to secure a medal and it’s golden! The team took out Romania, Great Britain, and Hong Kong in an epic Challenge Cup final in Graz, Austria. We are so proud! Check out this brief interview, conducted by the European Union, to see highlights of the World Cup and some words from our USA team captain, Patrick Moran.

Team USA was represented by 6 NYC-based players: Stephanie Chung, Patrick Moran (Captain), Joanne Schickerling, Alex Porush, Noel Mathew, and Shree Dhond. For Alex and Joanne, this was their debut on the Racketlon World Tour. Noel and Steph looked to build upon their international success last year in Prague and the Canary Islands by representing the national team for the first time. Shree returned to represent the stars and stripes for a 2nd time after being part of the team that finished 4th in the Challenge Cup back in 2019 after a hard-fought battle vs. Germany. Pat returns for his 3rd Team World Team Event.

In 2018, the US sent their 2nd ever team to the World Team Championships in Zurich, Switzerland. We beat teams from France and Switzerland. Sadly, we were defeated by the eventual winners of our Division (the Netherlands). However, we were proud of the results and look forward to being even stronger in the years to come! It is also worth noting, our very own, Katrin Maldre won the title for O-55 Women’s World Champion!
